Remembering Ted Hartson

The Loyal Order of the 704 is saddened by the news that one of our Founders, Ted Hartson has passed away, at the age of 78. May his life be remembered as the great man that he was.

Ted was born in 1943, and worked in Radio, TV and early Cable TV systems across the USA. He was living in Arizona and continued to research and study technology. Ted was the recipient of many technical patents over the years which enhanced the Broadcast and Cable Television industry.

Those who knew him were always encouraged by his words. He had a marvellous sense of humor and was also able to take a joke. He and Rex Porter began The Loyal Order of the 704, in 1994 for technicians and Engineers with 20+ years of experience, currently 30+ years, in the Cable Telecommunications Industry.

Ted was interviewed by Rex Porter in March 2001 as a part of the Oral History for the Barco Library of the Cable Centre, that interview can be found here: https://www.cablecenter.org/component/content/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=297
